Jonathan Perlis, DVM - Residency Trained in Internal Medicine

Dr. Perlis attended Auburn University in Alabama where he obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree followed by his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. He then moved to Boston, Massachusetts for a small animal medical and surgical internship at Angell Memorial Animal Hospital. After one year in private practice in Alabama, Dr. Perlis was offered a job teaching the Community Practice Service at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Perlis taught at the University of Georgia for two years before matching for an internal medicine residency at the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Perlis passed the internal medicine qualifier exam in 2004 and the certifier exam in 2005. When Dr. Perlis completes a research paper he will be admitted to the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine.
Following his residency, Dr. Perlis spent one year in the Internal Medicine service at Carolina Veterinary Specialists in Charlotte, North Carolina prior to moving to Los Angeles to start the Internal Medicine Service at a specialty hospital in Culver City where Dr. Perlis worked from 2006 until 2010.
Dr. Perlis uses the expertise gained from diagnosing and managing difficult internal medicine cases over the last twelve years to make recommendations beyond the imaging of your patients. He will recommend laboratory tests and procedures that can be performed by your hospital to help you take the best care of your clients and their pets.
